Designer of Women’s Hats Honored by Smithsonian

Hatter Mae Reeves receives an honorary Liberty Bell as her designs were displayed at the National Museum of African American History. The event honored Reeves’ accomplishments as a women’s hat designer and millinery shop owner. It turns out that Reeves was one of the first African Americans to establish a business in downtown Philadelphia.
