Hair Loss and Looking Good During ChemoThursday, June 10th, 2010Women and Hair Loss During ChemoMonday, June 7th, 2010My Personal Story On About.com: EntrepreneursWednesday, February 24th, 2010What Makes Madcapz A Different Kind of Baseball Cap?Wednesday, October 28th, 2009I created Madcapz because I couldn’t find a fun feminine cap to wear to cover my hair loss (from Grave’s Disease). I always liked hats but rarely wore them because I didn’t think they looked that great on me. But when I was losing my hair, I was extremely self-conscious of my thinning hair and wanted to cover my head, so I began to wear ball caps. These weren’t women’s baseball caps, but men’s caps with company logos on them, always in dark dreary colors.
When I began to think about creating women’s baseball hats I wanted the cap to be fashionable, but I also wanted it to fit comfortably and close to the head. I chose the low profile fit because it fits a woman’s head better than the standard fitted baseball cap. The low profile fit hugs the head and has less room in the crown of the cap making it a good fit for most women’s heads.
I wanted this women’s ball cap to be adjustable but didn’t want a self fastening strap in the back that would pull at hair. The buckle I use allows for easy adjustment but also stays in place so that there is no need for constant fussing with the strap. I also made sure there was ample strap to fit an assortment of sizes.
Sun protection is so important nowadays, and so the bill on a Madcapz women’s baseball cap is a bit longer than most baseball caps. The 2 ¾ inch bill gives additional sun protection to the face, a necessity today with the sun’s strong rays!
And then there are the fun unique colorful patterns that Madcapz offer. With over 20 bold prints available, every woman can find a Madcapz to suit her style!
Are there prints and colors you would especially like to see? Let me know as I’m working on our spring collection now! |
