Madcapz And Hat Etiquette
Friday, February 24th, 2012TAKE OFF OUR MADCAPZ?
While stumbling around the internet, I found an interesting article in the Huffington Post on hat etiquette: Hat Etiquette
Hat etiquette is not something that I think about a lot. I think that our woman’s baseball caps should be worn at all times. By all women. All the time.
No, this isn’t technically true, I know that you must at some point take of your baseball hat (when sleeping or scuba diving), but you get the idea. However, hat etiquette these days focusses mostly on when to remove your hats. According to the article, it is appropriate to take off your hat during the national anthem, formal occasions or indoors (though apparently not in elevators).
Anyway, the thing about the article on hat etiquette that really got me thinking was the end where it said that women when wearing hats typically worn by men should follow the same rules as men, while “ladies hats” could be worn at all times. Among the list of hats typically worn by men was the baseball cap. We sell women’s baseball caps.
Yes, I know that common sense dictates that we should remove our Madcapz when indoors or at formal occasions. But I did wonder where we would be grouped in this discussion of hat etiquette, as we don’t sell your run of the mill baseball caps.
Do you follow the rules of hat etiquette? Do you think that baseball caps should be listed as typically male hats?
